Woods Runner is about a boy named Samuel at the age 13 he is hunting when he smells smoke & runs home through the forest to see his house gone and 9 dead bodies so he buries them & there is no Mom or Dad. Then the next morning he follows the footsteps that left the burned cabin. The next day he sees a beautiful house so he sneaks up to the barn & a little girl named Annie comes out and says " take the red one it keeps piking at my feet". So he tries to catch it & all the chickens start making noise so the Dad named Caleb comes around the corner with the gun pointed at Samuel. Then he says "oh I thought a fox got in again" so they go to the house & eat then when he leaves hessians come & shoot Caleb & Ma then leave. Then Samuel gets attacked by two Indians & one he shot & the other one hits him in the head with the end of his gun & leaves. That is when Coop comes & drags him behind the oxen he is knocked out for 6 days then he wakes up. After that he is with Coop for several days he leaves him and is on his on his own again then up the road a man named Arbner found him & he was told to get on so he rides with Arbner in his wagon to New York. when they get to New York
